Egebiyoteknoloji Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Adnan Akyarli, Aegean University Faculty of Agriculture Teaching Member – Chamber of Agricultural Engineers Izmir Branch President Prof. Dr. Kamil Okyay Sindir and Aegean University Faculty of Agriculture Soil Department President Prof. Dr. Dilek Amac,  were guests on the Global Perspective Program and discussed the importance and the potential of creating value of the concepts of Biogas and Composting within the cycle of biomass for Agriculture and Stock-Breeding .

During a newsbroadcast on February 22, 2006, the Turkish Agricultural Bureau and the Biodiesel Industrialists shared their views with regard to the fact that biodiesel should stop being evaluated within the Petroleum Legislation and instead be evaluated within the “Renewable Energy” Legislation. Associaton of Biodiesel Producers President Mr. Tamer Afacan brought forth the hope of the producers that Biodiesel would be exempt from the Private Consumption Tax (OTV).

During a newsbroadcast on TRT 2, TARIS announced that it will be building a Biodiesel facility in order to support its producers. Additionally, Ozture General Co-ordinator Mr. Nezih Ozture touched upon the importance of the Private Consumption Tax (OTV) with regard to the production of Biodiesel.

The article published in Dunya Newspaper and headlined “3 billion dollar potential in Biodiesel” discussed Biodiesel’s contribution to the Turkish market. It also drew attention to the importance of the development of canola oil, which is used as the primary  raw material in Biodiesel production, for the biodiesel and agricultural sector.

They discussed the current situation of renewable energy sources in Turkey and their place in the future within the other energy resources.

The January-February issue of "Kaysobilgi" magazine, which is a publication of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, touches upon and discusses the importance of biodiesel, the initiatives that have been put in place for the development of the sector, and also the pertinent legal proceedings.
